Sri K.Venkatapatheppa College of Physical Education was established in 1983. The college is one of the very different educational institution run by Sri K.V. Trust, Chickballapur founded by Sri C.V.Venkatarayappa, Ex M.L.A of Chickballapur. Now the trust is lead by present Chairman, Sri K.V. Naveen Kiran, who is by himself young, energetic and a great lover and advisor of sports and games
Location and Physical feature : This College is located in a picturesque greenery and arboretum. Sri K.V. College of Physical Education is located at about 4 Kilometers of Chikballapur called C.V.V.Campus being away from the crowed and highly polluted town limit, the surrounding that invites even passer by to spend some time for relaxation of the body and mind.
Our Strength(college Infrastructure) : This Institution is sprawled over 10 Acres of land, in which the building structures occupy 2 acres and in the rest, about 80% is converted to play area for Track, field and game events. Part of the building itself host the state of Art Gymnasium and an indoor illuminated court for volley ball, shuttle badminton and Kabaddi etc., with convertible stadium for conducting functions etc., The 400 mtrs standard mud track made as per the specification of SAI(Sports Authority of India) is the glowing attraction of the college. There also exit flood lit open courts for Basketball Kabaddi Volley Ball, Kho – Kho , Cricket, Hockey Hand Ball etc., remaining land is landscaped to gloom the surroundings.
The infrastructural facilities and the store of equipments, library, Audio Visuals, Anatomy and Physiology, Health Fitness Labs, Seminar Hall etc., are not only comfort the present B.P.Ed students but suffice even if, M.P.Ed is offered by our College (Which is the future aim).
The dedicated and experienced faculty adds an additional feather on the crown of our college. The university examination results of our college consecutively from the inception till dare are supporting evidence of the Faculty. All these are the key factors, attracting students not only from the neighborhood and from the state of Karnataka but also from all over India. This attraction compelled our Trust to provide Hostel facilities for all the Out station Students and for the local students if they wish to stay in the Hostel.
In our college, we regularly conduct sports meet and allied activities at all levels. District, Divisional, Inter Collegiate, State league and National Level in association with Government and Non – Government Organizations and various federations. In addition to this, we have also conducted State Referee Exams in different disciplines, Sports seminars, workshops, Bharathiyam in Campus Programmes. For sports and allied disciplines and coaching camps for selected teams of different category, refresher course and orientation programmes for Government Higher Primary and High School Physical Education Teachers are among our regular activities.
As the entire campus spread over 90 plus acres of land, Any kind of future plan for extension is within the reach.
Possible Threat
Though there are many new colleges being mushroomed (both near and far) in the recent past this has no threat in any way to over institution because, we never stop in enhancing our existing facilities. The Trust’s Vision and foresees is to compete and defeat our own past records or to enhance our infrastructure but not to compare by external threat, at least now at the same time our Trust is seriously observing the developments elsewhere also, so as to guard ourselves in future, if needed be.
Our Opportunities
On the other hand Chickballapur has been recently got the status of independent district and Chickballapur Town as its head quarters. This up gradation helps us in many ways to secure more admissions. Furthermore, when new institutions came in to existence we are facilited with more and more possible challenges which will definitely add more advantages of exhibiting our experience and resources in comparison to that of other such institutions.
In terms of recourses, Our Trust enriched with sufficient lands for future extensions. The other institution, especially the schools and Colleges will have two – way influences on our college. One way those institutions feed us with admissions for various courses we offer and the other way, after completion of the courses well trained and eligible candidates will have bright chances of being absorbed as Physical Education Teachers, Trainers and Coaches in those institutions. Our trust is on the other hand financially sound enough to meet all the necessary requirements and also to avert any challenges and threats that it may come across. Our Trust always gives preference to the products (Candidate) from its own institutions to that of others.
Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find “time for illness”. The standard of the National Association Sports and Physical Education are pretty high, we would recommend them, but realistically that would almost double our health and Physical Education Teachers in the district in order to provide the students with that many hours, so, we are offering Physical Activity, Physical Education and nutrition education to all our students all the time.
